A former director at Deloitte Australia has avoided jail after pleading guilty to possessing hundreds of child porn images and videos.
Stephan Sparrius, 41, was working for the firm when police searched his Surry Hills home in March this year and discovered about 1200 child pornographic images on various computer devices.
He was charged with possessing child abuse material, using a carriage service to access child pornography material and using a carriage service to make available, publish or distribute child pornography.
The prosecution had asked that Sparrius spend time in jail but magistrate Susan McIntyre instead imposed a 15-month corrective services order.
