Man in critical condition after single car crash near Yass

A 40-year-old man remains in a critical condition after a single-car crash near Yass on Saturday morning. 

Police believe the vehicle went off the Hume Highway and hit a tree, while driving about 15km north-west of Yass at around 7.30am.

Witnesses went to the assistance of the driver, before he was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene. 

The man remains in Canberra Hospital in a critical condition. 

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle, a white Mitsubishi Lancer.  

Police commenced an investigation at the scene, and have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
