A man has been bitten by a shark while surfing at a beach south of Forster on Thursday morning, paramedics say.
Emergency services were called to The Lakes Way at Booti Booti about 9.15am to reports that a man had been bitten.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the man, who is believed to be aged in his 60s, suffered a deep cut to his foot. His condition was not immediately known, the spokesman said.
The surfer is also believed to have suffered cuts to his arm, while his surfboard was reportedly bitten in half.
A rescue helicopter is also heading to the scene.
The attack is believed to have occurred just north of Elizabeth Beach, near the Ruins campground, according to the Coomba Park Rural Fire Brigade.
