Man dies after fatal shooting in Earlwood

A man has died after a fatal shooting in Earlwood on Monday night, which police believe may have been a targeted shooting.

Police were called to Larkhall Avenue at about 9.40pm following reports of a possible shooting when they located the man on the footpath suffering gun-shot wounds. He could not be revived.

A crime scene has been established in the area while further investigations are carried out by detectives from Ashfield Local Area Command together with detectives from the State Crime Commands Homicide Squad.

Meanwhile, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire at Goddard Park, Concord about 10.15pm.

The fire was extinguished by NSW Fire & Rescue crews and a crime scene has been established.

Police believe the vehicle, an Audi Q7, may have been involved in the fatal shooting.
