Woman knocked out in attack after row at Potts Point fast-food restaurant

Two men have been charged after a woman and a man were assaulted at Potts Point early on Sunday.

An argument began between people at two tables at a fast-food restaurant on Darlinghurst Road about 1.30am on Sunday.

The woman, 22, was hit by a soft drink thrown by a man, then another man threw the contents of his drink at her, police said.

A short time later, one of the men approached the woman outside the restaurant.

He allegedly picked her up and dropped her head-first onto the ground. She briefly lost consciousness.

A 21-year-old man who was walking past tried to intervene and was punched, falling to the ground, police said.

He suffered facial injuries.

Police arrested two men, aged 21 and 20, a short distance away.

They were taken to Kings Cross police station.

The younger man was charged with two counts each of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault, as well as one count of affray.

The older man was charged with common assault and affray.

Both men were granted conditional bail and are due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on December 6.
