An emergency alert was sent to residents in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Residents were told if they live in the area but are not currently home, it may not be safe to return home.

Those at home were told to shelter in place and be aware that embers may ignite spot fires ahead of the main fire front.

Any unattended spot fires in the area should be reported to triple zero immediately, the RFS said.
