Drowning death toll: Two more deaths, two bodies found, in separate water accidents

Two men have died and two other bodies have been been recovered in separate drownings in NSW on Friday.

It comes after a tragic week around the state's beaches and waterways, with 13 people now having died since Christmas.

About 2pm, a 46-year-old man was swimming at the Kolora Lake Reserve at Yamba, in the state's north, when he was pulled from the water unresponsive.

CPR was given but he died at the scene.

Meanwhile, in Wagga Wagga, police recovered a body in their days-long search for Victorian man Peter "Pace" Abd-El-Kaddous.

The 42-year-old disappeared under the water while swimming with his wife in the Murrumbidgee River on Wednesday.

Police found the body at about 2.45pm Friday. While the identity has not confirmed, Police believe it to be that of Mr Abd El- Kaddous.

Another man died after he was pulled unconscious from the water at Tahmoor, south-west of Sydney, earlier Friday.

Emergency services were called to a swimming hole known as Mermaid Pools, near Rockford Road, just before 12.30pm.

Police said the 27-year-old, from Pakistan, was swimming with friends when he dived into the water.

He got into trouble, signalling for assistance, then was pulled from the water as bystanders started CPR.

Attempts to resuscitate the man lasted for more than an hour, as police and an Ambulance helicopter were sent to the scene.

Paramedics were winched into the remote area to treat him. However, the man died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Vision from the swimming spot showed a large group of people standing on a rock ledge alongside police, as an Ambulance helicopter hovered nearby.

A group of emergency service workers stood around the man on a lower ledge, closer to the water.

Earlier on Friday, a body was found in the search for missing 14-year-old Tui Gallaher, who disappeared in rough surf on Tuesday night at Maroubra Beach.

On Thursday, a toddler who was pulled unconscious from a backyard swimming pool on December 20 died, following the death of his twin sister who passed away on Boxing Day.

Also on Boxing Day, Grafton grandfather Geoffrey Blackadder died trying to save his two nieces from a rip at Wooli Beach, north of Coffs Harbour.
