Four people including a child have been winched to safety after a helicopter they were travelling in was forced to make an emergency landing in national parkland near a southern Sydney beach.
Four people were on board the helicopter when it landed shortly after 10am about one kilometre from the shoreline at Bundeena, about 30 kilometres south of Sydney, a spokeswoman for the NSW police said.
They were winched to safety about an hour later when the Westpac Rescue Helicopter arrived on the scene to reach them. A young boy was among the passengers on board. The passengers were unharmed, the spokeswoman said.
The helicopter landed on the grounds of the Royal National Park, about one kilometre from Jibbon beach where it has become stuck in scrub.
