Four lanes of traffic were forced to merge into one after a water main burst in Manly Vale.
The water main burst on Condamine St at Kenneth Road on Wednesday morning.
Two of four northbound lanes are now open on Condamine St.
Heading in the opposite direction, one of three southbound lanes is closed.
The southbound bus lane is also closed, with some buses delayed up to 10 minutes, according to Live Traffic NSW.
Live Traffic Sydney posted a photo of the destruction to Twitter, warning drivers to "allow extra travel time" due to heavy traffic travelling both ways.

There is no right turn into Kenneth Road northbound, and drivers are advised to avoid Kenneth Road to access Condamine St, as there are diversions in place.
