Cyclist dies after collision with car in Sydney's eastern suburbs

A cyclist has died after he was hit by a car in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to New South Head Road at Double Bay about 6.30pm on Monday where they found the male cyclist had died at the scene.

Police are yet to identify the dead cyclist.

The driver of the car was taken for mandatory testing and police have established a crime scene.

Two of three westbound lanes of New South Head Road at Double Bay were closed after the accident, with drivers warned to expect delays.
