Sydney: A woman has died after being hit by a 4WD as she crossed the road on Sydney's lower north shore.
Police believe the 77-year-old woman, from North Sydney, was crossing on a green signal in St Leonards shortly after 11am on Friday when she was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser turning left off the Pacific Highway.
She was taken to hospital with head injuries where she later died.
The driver of the 4WD, a 43-year-old woman from Concord, was arrested at the scene and charged with dangerous driving.
