Police have charged two people after a loaded gun was found in the living room of a house in Sydney's south-west, with two children also inside the home at the time.
Officers were executing a search warrant at a home on Queen Street in Narellan about 12.15pm on Wednesday, when they allegedly found the loaded weapon on a table in the living room.
As well as the prohibited firearm, police said they found a slingshot, ammunition, and cannabis.
A seven-year-old child and a baby were also at the home at the same time.
Police arrested a 28-year-old woman at the scene, and later arrested a 36-year-old man at a different address.
The pair was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with multiple offences including possessing an unauthorised firearm, endangering life, possessing a prohibited drug, and possessing a prohibited weapon.
They were refused bail, and will face Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday. The Department of Family and Community Services has also been notified.
