Two people have died after a serious crash reportedly involving two trucks near Grafton on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the Gwydir Highway, Jackadgery, 40 kilometres west of Grafton, just after 2.15pm following reports that two trucks collided head-on.
The two male drivers, both aged in their 50s, died at the scene. They have not yet been formally identified.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Local lands service personnel and a veterinarian will also attend to euthanise the injured cattle.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
