A crash between a truck and two vehicles in the Eastern Distributor tunnel at Moore Park has caused a traffic jam back through the Sydney Harbour tunnel during Friday morning's peak.
The Transport Management Centre (TMC) said one of two south-bound lanes of the Eastern Distributor's main tunnel had been closed after the crash occurred about 8.30am.
By 9am, traffic was already queued an estimated seven kilometres through the Sydney Harbour tunnel to the Warringah Freeway, on the northern side of the harbour.
"Motorists are advised to allow plenty of additional travel time and consider an alternative route," a TMC spokeswoman said.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were treating one patient at the scene following the crash. The condition of that patient was not immediately known, he said.
There was no indication when the crash would be cleared and the road reopened.
It follows earlier delays on the M5 east-bound after a fiery truck crash on Friday morning.
In that crash, the truck clipped a concrete barrier at Kingsgrove just after 2am and burst into flames after its fuel tank split. It caused significant delays on the M5 throughout the morning peak, however the delays had cleared by 8.30am.
