A NSW woman has become the State's first road fatality of the Christmas period.
She was killed on Christmas Eve after the car she was driving left the road and rolled at Merriwa, about 65km west of Scone.
The accident happened about 3.30pm. Police were called to the Golden Highway, Merriwa, following reports a sedan had left the roadway and rolled.
The female driver and sole occupant suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
One person has died on West Australian roads, bringing the toll for Australia's holiday period to two.
All other states and territories remain fatality-free since Friday.
The national road toll period runs from midnight on December 23 to January 3.
